Two children of Alpheus PALMER were coasting Saturday in front of their father's house. A lad living with Mr. P. got on the sled with them and on coasting down ran between the legs of P.'s horses which happened to be in front of the mill. One of the horses kicked violently and being sharp shod, the toe of the shoe fractured the young child's skull. The boy is about 5 years of age. His sister nearly two years older was also kicked and much bruised about the face. Strange to say the little fellow is still alive and at last accounts could recognize and speak to those around him. - Sackville Borderer
