A little child of George SMITH met its death under peculiar circumstances the other day. The mother of the child have left it in the house alone while she went across the wayto Henry MORGAN's place. Upon returning no trace of the child could be found anywhere, although a diligent search was kept up for a long time; but at last the lifeless body of the child was found buried beneath some wood near the wood-pile. It is thought the child attempted to climb up on the wood pile, when the wood gave way and fell upon it. The child was about 4 years old. - F'ton Gleaner
