Centreville (Carleton Co.) Sept. 15 - Last March, Wm CROSS died in Aroostock Co., Maine, leaving a widow and six children. Shortly after his death the family moved down to Lakeville in Carleton Co. on a farm owned by Geo. S. WIGGINS, now out in one of the Western States. Mrs. Cross was taken sick, became worse rapidly and her friends moved her into the village so that she might be better cared for. The friends in Lakeville ministered to her wants and after a short illness she departed this life and was buried by Rev. J.E. Flewelling on Sunday 30th Aug. She left six children to the cold charity of the world. S.S. WIGGINS, her brother-in-law (Wm Cross being a brother of Mrs. S.S. Wiggins) found good homes for them all. The eldest, a boy about 16, has gone with Charles TRACEY of Lakeville; the eldest daughter, aged about 14, with one of the Councillors of Wilmot, James BARTER of Avondale; another daughter with Whitney PAYSON of Jacksontown; a boy with Edward BECKIM of Bloomsfield; and the babe, about one year old, remains with Mrs. WIGGINS.
