Josiah SMITH, Branch, New Germany, N.S. received a letter last week from Messrs Uniacke & Co., Victoria, Australia informing him that Edward SMITH, Esq. of Cherry Hill, who had died unmarried, had bequeathed all his real and personal estate, amounting to 400,000 sterling to be divided among his surviving relatives. Lewis SMITH s/o Gasper SMITH of this town left Lunenburg, N.S. for California and Australia about 30 years ago. He has been frequently heard from since. It is thought by some that his name was Lewis Edward SMITH. A search has been made in the English Church books here for the record of his baptism, but his name and that of one of his brothers has not been entered. - 'Lunenburg Progress'
