The death of James H. GANONG of St. Stephen (Charlotte Co.) occurred Saturday afternoon. The deceased was a native of Belleisle (Kings Co.) and when quite a young man removed to St. Stephen where with his brother, Gilbert GANONG, he began the confectionary business. About five years ago he withdrew from the firm and, with several others, formed the St. Croix Soap Manufacturing Co. He has been a Councillor for a number of years and for a period held the position of Mayor. He was also Vice-President of the S.P.C.A. for Charlotte Co. The deceased leaves a widow and six children. His eldest son is at present at Harvard University. His eldest daughter is a student at Wolville Academy, N.S.
