Hon. John LEFURGEY, Summerside, P.E.I. died suddenly at the Revere House, Boston, Tuesday. He left his home on the 25th ult. to meet one of his vessels there. He was in his usual good health on leaving but was suddenly seized with an attack of la grippe. He did not get farther than Boston and Mrs. LeFurgey, as soon as she learned of his illness, hastened to his bedside, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. George McSWEENY of Moncton, but it was their sad experience to learn that he had breathed his last two hours before they had reached him. In early life Mr. LeFurgey engaged in ship building, leavuing an estate worth about $200,000. He served in various public capacities and was at one time member of the Island legislature. In politics he was a Liberal-Conservative. The deceased leaves a widow, four daughters and several sons. One daughter is the wife of George McSweeny of Hotel Brunswick, Moncton and another is the wife of W.A. BRENNAN of Summerside 'Journal'. George McSweeny left yesterday for Boston to bring the remains home for interment.
