About 11 o'clock Thursday night last, Henry PRICE and others who live at the main land end of the bar leading to Chamcook Island (Charlotte Co.) were roused from their sleep by shrieks and cries of distress. PRICE and another lad speedily launched a skiff and used every exertion to reach the person in jeaporady whom they described near the further end of the bar, but within a few yards of him he sank and remained below. All efforts to find him proved ineffectual until next morning when the tide ebbed and he was discovered a little to the north of the bar. He was identified to be John ROHAN who has lived as farm servant for some time with William DOUGLAS of the Island. He was decently interred in Kirk Yard here. (St. Andrews).
