George CHRISTIE was born here in 1861 and when but an infant of a few days was taken to the Haylan farm on Old Ridge road where he passed away. For some years he was unable to hear. Lately he had realized that death was approaching. It was his custom to kneel in prayer before retiring each night and get up during the night for a lunch. On the night of his death he had partaken of his lunch and went to his room to again retire and knelt again in prayer. His brother, Robert CHRISTIE, himself over 91 years of age, detected a change in his voice and when he went to him life had expired. He was tenderly lifted on the bed when he immediately entered his last long sleep. He was 95 years of age and in earlier life had followed the lumbering business.
