There was an excursion to Ketch Harbor yesterdfay in the steamer "A.C. Whitney" which was well attended. As the steamer was entering Ketch Harbor, about 3 o'clock, some of the villagers turned out to honor the occasion by firing a salute. On the passengers landing that George W. MARTIN had overcharged his gun and it exploded, bllowing off the top of his skull and shattering his head frightfully. Death resulted in about 15 or 20 minutes. The deceased, aged about 18, was a son of Charles MARTIN of Ketch Harbor, N.S. - Halifax 'Citizen', 18th Aug.
