The first Lodge of Freemasons which existed in Kings Co. some 40 or 50 years ago, had among its members some of the leading men of the county, but it is believed that all are long since dead. The records of that lodge were lost many years ago by fire. The first records we have are of the present Zion Lodge which was instituted in 1863 with the following brethern as charter members: Joseph H. LITTLEHALE, George RYAN, William D. AITKEN, Charles P. BLISS, S.S. LITTLEHALE, S.P. WETMORE and Clarence WARD. The first meeting of Zion Lodge No. 995 was held April 10th, 1863. (see original)
