Alexander ROGERS - Only s/o Wm ROGERS by Eliza LONGHEAD d/o James LONGHEAD of Truro, N.S. Great Grandparents emigrated from North of Ireland to Nova Scotia about 1760. Born at Hopewell Hill, N.B. 12th Feb. 1842. Educated at Mount Allison Wesleyan Academy. Married Dec. 5th, 1866 at Hopewell, Bessie MOORE d/o late Thomas B. MOORE, Barrister. Merchant. Has been Secretary and Treasurer of the Albert Co. Agricultural Society since its organization in 1861. First returned to N.B. Assembly for Albert at general election 1874. Unseated on petition, 17th July 1875, re-elected 28th Aug. 1875; again unseated 3rd Dec. 1875; Re-elected 18th Jan. 1876. Unsuccessful candidate at general election of 1878. First returned to House of Commons at last general election. A Liberal. - Hopewell Hill, N.B.
