(See entry 148) Some men who were at work on the house at Red Head (St. John) belonging to Carl REGEN gave the alarm and Jas. DAVIS, a painter in the employ of Joseph BELL, and John KELLEY, an apprentice, proceeded with all haste along the shore in search of a boat, which they found at upwards of a mile from where they were working. These with two others, rowed off and succeeded in rescuing Messrs HICKS and McKAIN who are seafaring men.
