Steeves Settlement, Jan. 1st - News of a drowning accident has reached us from Pennsylvania, in which two young men from near here, lost their lives by the upsetting of a boat. The unfortunate men are James HULIS and Alonzo McPHEE. They in company with Theodore WILSON, formerly of Little River (Albert Co.), his son and a man named SMITH, while attempting to cross a river, the boat upset. Smith was saved by clinging to the boat and Wilson swam to shore, taking his son with him, a distance of 30 rods, while Hulis and McPhee, failing to reach the boat and unable to swim, were drowned.
