George HUME died at his residence King Street this morn. half past 9 o'clock. He had been confined to his room since early last summer and during all that time has been a great sufferer. Mr. Hume was a native of Carleton Co., but is best known as proprietor of Long's Hotel of this city. He conducted the hotel for a long time and made considerable money. Some four or five years ago he sold out this property to the present owner, Mr. Everett, and since then lived retired. Deceased was 60 years old and leaves a widow, two sons and three daughters. His sons, Horace HUME and Fred HUME, are both settled in British Columbia. Horace was with his father at the time of his death, having arrived home to visit them a few days ago. His daughters are Mrs. Wesley VANWART of this city, Mrs. Frank THOMPSON of St. paul and Miss Nellie HUME. The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon 2:30.
