Monday, two sailors named Richard BURKE and John CAREY belonging to brig "Velocity" from Waterford, having quarrelled, a scuffle ensued, when BURKE drew his knife and stabbed CAREY which caused almost instantaneous death. A coroner's inquest held Tuesday returned a verdict of wilful murder. The murderer was arrested and is now lying in gaol awaiting trial.
