Levite THERIAULT, next to Mr. Perley, is the oldest member of the house. He was born at St. Basil in 1837 and was educated at St. Anne's College, Quebec. He is a farmer and warden of the County of Madawaska. He has been a member of the Board of Agriculture and secretary of the Victoria Central Agricultural Society. His wife was a daughter of Ed LEBEL of Quebec. He was first elected to the legislature in 1867 for Victoria County and in 1871 was returned for Madwaska. He continued to represent the constituency until 1882 and then resigned and came back in 1886; resigned in 1887, but was unsuccessful in his election for the Commons and was re-elected. He was a member of the executive council from July 1871 to Feb. 1872. A Conservative and Catholic.
