The fire which on Friday destroyed so much property in the Town of Portland and rendered homeless 163 families is still smoking. It blazed up several times on Saturday causing the alarm from the fire bell. The remains of Bernard HALEY were found in the ruins of Leonard BROWN's house at an early hour Saturday morn. An inquest was held by Coroner Earle in the afternoon. Deceased was a mason and had been in the employ of Mr. BROWN. He was one of those burnt out by the big fire near Long Wharf. From that time till Friday he lived in a house on Acadia St. with his son John HALEY.
