On Sunday Dec. 1, there passed away one of our oldest citizens in the 90th year of his age. Henry Burbridge ALLISON was born in Cornwallis, N.S. in 1801 and began his business calling in Halifax where he remained some years; then went to Miramichi and carried on an extensive business under the name of Crane & Allison. While residing there the great fire took place and Mr. Allison was heavy loser. In the year 1854 he came to Sackville where he has ever since resided and was engaged in business many years. Mr. Allison was one of a very large family. Only one brother, George A. ALLISON, Halifax survives him; two other brothers once resided in Sackville., Charles F. ALLISON, founder of the Mount Allison Institute who was at one time partner of Henry B. Allison and Joseph F. ALLISON. Mr. Allison married a daughter opf Wm ABRAMS, merchant of Miramichi and celebrated his golden wedding anniversary in July 1889. His wife survives him and four children: H. Berton ALLISON, Sackville; Howard A. ALLISON, Boston; J. Walter ALLISONof firm John P. Mott & Co., Halifax, N.S.; and Miss Annie ALLISON - Sackville 'Post'
