Along the North Shore - from the 'Advance' On Saturday eve. 8 o'clock an inquest was held by Coroner Dr. John S. Benson on the body of James GROAT, age 12, at the house of his father on the Mill Hill. It appears from evidence that deceased and a lad named Samuel KINGSTON, about the same age, went on the ice at the lower ballast wharf about 2 p.m. They skated down to Rock Head and were returning when deceased, who was skating about ten yards further from the shore than his comrade, glided into a space of open water. The funeral took place Monday afternoon (see original)
