On Wednesday, James PETERSON who hails from New Brunswick, was fatally injured at Bangor, Maine. The Maine Central Railway carpenters were engaged in raising the frame of a large freight shed, when a heavy timber, thought to be securely fastened, came down with great force striking Peterson and injuring his spinal column. The unfortunate man is yet alive, but cannot survive. He has been living in Bangor for several years, previously having resided in Fredericton and Saint John.
