A feeling of gloom was cast upon Marysville (York Co.) on Saturday forenoon by a frightful accident in front of the station house. Shortly before 11 o'clock a working train in charge of Conductor Harry PICKARD drew up to the station and as it was leaving, Allen HANSON, who had been working up the line, jumped on a moving car and his foot slipping on the ice he fell between the cars, when four wheels passed over him severing his leg and crushing his skull. The train was slowly backing at the time and his body was dragged about one hundred yards. Dr. Sharp of Marysville was early on the spot and the telephone soon brought Drs. Coburn and Crocket from the city, but the unfortunate man was so horrily mangled that nothing could be done for him. He lingered in great pain for over half an hour when death ended his suffering. He was the son of Robt. HANSON of Durham, Nashwaak.
