Charles LONG, age 18 and Ovid LONG, age 18 sons of James LONG, Esq. of Cocaigne (Kent Co.) were drowned by the upsetting of a birch canoe in which they, with a lad named DYSART were persuing wild fowl near the bridge at that place 3rd inst. Charles discharged his gun while standing in the frail bark and was thrown into the water by the recoil, and the canoe upset. He sank, apparently stunned by the blow. His brother had nearly gained the shore when he sank. Dysart was taken up almost exhausted.
