Portland, Maine, 29th Nov. - To Thomas ROBERTSON, Purser of S.S. Indian : We the undersigned Passengers rescued from the wreck of the said ship, hereby request you to return thanks on our behalf to the several inhabitants of Saint John, N.B. who so feelingly expressed their sympathy for us in our distressed condition and especially to those who contributed pecuniary aid, now in our hands ... and further, having been assisted by a liberal subscription collected on board the steamer Admiral yesterday, we have to desire you to hand over the whole sum to Franz KULSTER and ECKMANN who unfortunately lost his wife and child. They are both foreigners, and in our belief in the greatest extremity. (signed) R. PEARSON, George CRANER, Stetton CROSS, Richard BROWN, A.G. HOWLAND, A. BOZESSON.
