Geo. RUSSELL, formerly of Moncton (West. Co.) but now a resident of Portland, Maine is one of the most successful shipbuilders of Maine. Mr. Russell left Moncton in 1846 for Pembroke, Maine. After acting as foreman for six years in the yard of Capt. John WALLS, he commenced building ships on his own account. He is the eldest son of the late Stuart RUSSELL and brother of Jas. C. RUSSELL of this town. (see original for list of vessels built by Mr. S. from 1847 to 1883) Geo. Russell's younger brothers, Jonas RUSSELL, Eben RUSSELL, Stuart RUSSELL, and William RUSSELL have been working in conjunction with their elder brother.
