The press despatched recently reported the drowning of George A. WELDON at Concord, N.H. - George A. Weldon, age 25, who has for several years past been in the employ in the employ of Henry BULL, who lives in the east part of Concord quite near to the Carlisle line, while skating on the Concord river Tuesday, Jan. 20, broke through the ice about 100 rods below Bedford Bridge on the main road from Carlisle to Bedford. He was skating alone at the time and his prolonged absence excited the suspicion of his employer and the neighborhood that he must have drowned. Search commenced Wednesday and his bordy was recovered Friday. Weldon was a native of Saint John, N.B.. Funeral services were observed Saturday afternoon, Jan. 24 from home of his late abode, attended by Rev. Bulkley of Concord. (see original)
