A Hebrew funeral, the first that has ever taken place in St. John was witnessed yesterday by a large number of persons. The remains of David HARTT, a young s/o Solomon HARTT were interred in the new Jewish Burial Place at Rural Cemetery yesterday afternoon. There the service was conducted according to the Hebrew ritual by Nathan GREEN, father of the deaceased and a Montreal gentleman, (see original) (Rural Cemetery is today known as Fernhill Cemetery, Westmorland Road, Saint John)
