Miss Bessie WHITNEY has been appointed to a position in the Victoria Art School, Montreal and is removing thither. Her father, George W. WHITNEY will go with her. They leave tomorrow. Mr. Whitney, although out of active work for the past few years, is favorably known to the business. He entered the McMillan's bookselling business in 1836 and continued until his retirement in 1888. For a long time he was practically its head. For 20 years he was a member of the vestry of Trinity Church, long connected with temperance work and many philanthropic movements.
