On Sunday morn., 30th April, Simon MARTIN, Jr. and his son, age 14, residents of Violette Brook, near the boundary line between Maine and N.B. left their sugar camp in Cyr Plantation, Aroostock Co., Maine to serach for a 'surgarie'. ... The two neither had matches nor provisions and must have died during their first night in the woods. Mr. M. leaves a widow and seven children. (see original)
