The death of Joshua S. TURNER occurred at St. John Friday morn. Mr. Turner, who was 71 years of age, was born in Bocabec (Charlotte Co.) and was a graduate of Sackville Academy. Soon after graduating he went to Australia. In a few years, however, he returned to St. John and started in the grocery business on Water Street and was a prosperous merchant up to the time of the big fire when like many others he suffered heavily. Since then he has been engaged in different enterprises, but at the time of his death was managing a grocery store for Messrs. Puddington & Merritt. He was taken seriously ill about three weeks ago with heart trouble and other complications. He leaves a family of five children, viz: J. Allan TURNER and Miss Alice TURNER of Boston; Henry TURNER, Miss Kate TURNER and Mrs. C.T. GILLESPIE of St. John. Mr. Turner was an active upholder of Methodism. His funeral took place Sunday and was attended by the Orangemen in a body.
