A shocking accident occurred in McFee's shipyard near Marsh Bridge (St. John) on Wednesday afternoon. Several men were engaged in placing a spruce plank, 30 feet long, 5 inches wide, on bottom of the vessel now being built on the yard. After getting a large jack screw under one end they began forcing the other end into position, when the plank sprung and struck Hugh BRAGAN who had just fallen upon a pine way upon the head, crushing his skull, and killing him almost instantly. BRAGAN was 48 years of age, left family. He lived near the place where the accident happened. Coroner Rigby held an inquest yesterday morn. Evidence given by John DOUGLAS, Jacob WOODS and James FRASER.
