Centreville (Carleton Co.) March 3 - As a rector of Wicklow I was called upon to perform a duty yesterday which was painful to me, namely, to bury a church warden. Thomas M. CORBETT of Williamstown, who held that position, has been one of my right-hand men, liberal, staunch in his allegiance to the Church of England, a warm friend and kind neighbor. It will be difficult to find one to take his place. Yesterday after 300 attended the funeral, thus testifying to the esteem in which he was held. He was buried in the Methodist burying ground, Williamstown beside his wife, who proceeded him to the spirit world 23 years ago. About six months ago his aged mother was laid to rest beside her husband at Jacksonville. Mr. C. leaves one son and one daughter who will divide the inheritance between them. He was the possessor of a fine farm on which he lived. part owner of another farm not far from the homestead and had claim on two lots in the town of Woodstock. On Easter Monday St. James congregation will elect to act in his place as warden. (signed) J.E. FLEWELLING.
