I.C.R. Conductors by George H. Wallace, Sussex (Kings Co.) - Conductor George H. TRUEMAN was born at Point de Bute (West. Co.) 4th August 1838. Mr. Trueman started out as station agent at Aulac, Dec. 27th, 1869. At the opening of the Intercolonial Railway, however, he was transferred to the road, and ran on what was then known as the Petitcodiac freigh train. On the appointment of Mr. TRITES to the track dept., Mr. Trueman was put in charge of the train running between Painsec Junction and Amherst, but on the opening of the I.C.R. to Halifax, he was placed in charge of the first passenger train between Moncton and Truro. His next change was to a conductorship at the St. John end where he remained for about a year, being then transferred to Moncton station. In 1876, by reason of ill health, he was relieved from the confinement of the station and again put on the road as conductor of the day express between St. John and Amherst.
