At West Head mill, Carleton (St. John) yesterday, John DYKEMAN, age 18, s/o John DYKEMAN of Water St., Carleton got caught in the main drum belt. His right was broken near the thigh, the left foot almost sevred from the leg, his left arm broken and his head terribly cut. Drs. MacFarlane, Walker, Berrymann and Burton were called, and it was decided to amputate the left leg and left arm. At last accounts it was thought that the boy's recovery was next to impossible.
