Mutinous Conduct on Board Ship - Yesterday morn. a rumour was started that the crew of a ship that had just left port had mutinied, a short distance down the Bay and one or two lives were lost. There was considerable interest manifested among the merchants and the mutinous conduct of the crew of ship "Belle Vue", CUTTEN, master was the current topic conversation. It appears that when she was ready for sea, the captain shipped as his crew: William ROBINSON, 34, Hopewell (Albert Co.) first mate; Claudius AUCKINLECK, 29, Tyrone, second mate; Jesse John HYLAND, 29, New Jersey, Cook; Bartholomew HORTON, 26, St. John, Carpenter; Joseph PEARSON, 28, St. John, able bodied seaman and eight others. Information was made by the Captain of the "Belle Vue", Rufus F. CUTTEN, that on 2nd Feb. inst. whilst in the Bay of Fundy about 20 miles from the port of St. John certain of the crew, namely: Daniel LANE, 25, Liverpool, England; Samuel GRAHAM, 23, Philadelphia; James McGUIRE, 27, Liverpool; Thomas CAMPBELL, 22, Liverpool; Mathew MORAN, 32, Liverpool; James O'BRIEN, 26, Boston; and Michael McGUIRE, 26, St. John, all articled seamen of ship "Belle Vue" bound from St. John to Liverpool and assaulted him, refused to obey his orders, neglected their duty and delayed the voyage.
