James W. SPROUL, deputy sheriff of Kings Co. since 1868, died Thursday after a brief illness. Mr. Sproul was also deputy registrar of deeds during the term of Geo. Barnes and Gilbert R. Pugsley. He was born at Smith's Creek in 1827. He leaves a widow, the eldest d/o late William DEMILL; one daughter, the wife of Fred M. ANDERSON of Salmon River (St. John) and three sons, Fred M. SPROUL, John H. SPROUL and Albert J.S. SPROUL.
