The remains of the late Edward ELLIOTT, stevedore, were consigned to their last resting place in Rural (Fernhill) cemetery yesterday afternoon. The Ship Laborer's Union attended the funeral in a body. A service was held at the residence of the deceased on High Street after which the cortege formed and proceeded to the Congregational church on Union Street. The service there was conducted by the pastor Rev. Howie. The pall bearers were Robert JONES, Geo. YOUNG, Charles A. ESTEY, Wm BOWDEN, R.A. COURTENAY and J.W. SULIS.
