Charles H. FAIRWEATHER died at 9:40 last eve. after a lingering illness of several months in which he endured much suffering. Mr. Fairweather was a native of Kings Co. and was born on a farm, but at an early age he came to this city and entered as a clerk in the mercantile house of Stephen Wiggins & Son. He soon entered business on his own account and the firm of Hall & Fairweather, of which he was a partner, has for 40 years or more enjoyed a provincial reputation. He took a great deal of interest in political matters and was recognized as one of the leading Conservatives of this city, although he nevr sought political honors. He took an interest in various outside enterprises such as the New Brunswick Railway of which he was one of the owners and builders. Mr. Fairweather was a man of kindly manners and genial disposition. He has been for many years a director of the Bank of New Brunswick. He was twice married and leaves several children surviving him, one of them being the wife of Alfred MORRISEY.
