Sussex (Kings Co.) Aug. 1 - A painful accident occurred here this afternoon by which Thos. HACKETT, night telegraph operator at this station, lost his life by drowning. Young Hackett and another youth by name of MILMORE went into the river, at the rear of lands owned by Hon. Dr. Vail to bathe. Hackett, age 19, was son of E. HACKETT, M.P. of P.E.I. An inquest was held by Dr. J.N. Burnett.
