Robert A. HAY died on Sunday 10th in the 75th year of his age.. He was a native of Nova Scotia but came to Woodstock at 14 years of age since which time he has continued to reside here. For some time he followed a mercantile business in which he was successful and then entered upon the foundry business, giving employment to many men and laying the foundation to that industry. He filled for a time the position of President of the Woodstock Railway Co.. Mr. Hay was a devoted member of the Methodist Church, for 30 years or more discharged the duties of recording steward and for some years was superintendant of the Methodist Sabbath School. He was the oldest member of the Masonic Lodge of Woodstock and was the first Master of the first Lodge under the Registry of Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia. On Tuesday his remains were conveyed from his residence to the Methodist Church. The pall bearers were David MUNRO, J.T. ALLAN, J.A. SHEA, Col. TUPPER, Wm SKILLEN, W.F. DIBBLEE.
