George C. COATES of firm J.E. & G.C. Coates of Coatesville (Kent Co.) died at his residence on Saturday 28th May, after an illness of four mos. resulting in tuberculosis of the lungs. The funeral services were held at his residence Monday 30th May by Rev. Silas James, Methodist, assisted by Rev. J.D. Murray of Buctouche, pastor of the Presbyterian church. William IRVINE, John McNAIRN, Wilder SHERWOOD, Ezra GESNER, Frank STEEVES and Harvey GESNER were pall bearers. The deceased was a descendant of Thomas COATES who came from Yorkshire, England to Nova Scotia in the 17th Century, was unmarried, 27 years old last September, leaves a widowed mother, two brothers and two sisters - 'Transcript'
