A drowning accident occurred in Tracadie Bay 19th inst. James ELLIS of that place went out in the bay in a dory with a small boy ten years of age to take up some herring nets. When leaning over the dory to reach one of the net buoys, he lost his balance and fell overboard. He was a good swimmer, for he took his boots off and made for the shore. He reached the flats, stood up in about four feet of water, gave one loud call, fell forward and was drowned. It is supposed that he became cramped with the cold and was unable any longer to maintain his footing. - Charlottetown, P.E.I. 'Patriot'.
