House of Assembly - William A. QUINTON, member for St. John Co., is a resident of Lancaster. He was born in Lancaster, 4th April 1847 being a son of James QUINTON who represented St. John in the Legislature at one time, and of his wife, Elizabeth TILLEY, cousin of Sir Leonard TILLEY, Lt. Gov. of N.B. Married Kate ALLAN d/o R.R. ALLAN, Esq., Carleton. Was educated in St. John. Was a member of the Municipal Council of St. John for four years and sat in Common Council for 4 or 5 years as representative from Guys Ward. He is a farmer and lumberman. He has been a school trustee and J.P. for several years. Was first elected to House of Assembly at general election in 1882 and was returned again 1886. Liberal.
