Alleged Murder! Thursday dead body of a man found on Hog Island at mouth of Digdeguash, Passamaquoddy Bay recognized to be Matthew LYNCH, pensioner. In quest held before David Mowat, Esq., Coroner, when from marks of violence observed upon the corpse and numerous circumstances testified by witnesses a verdict of murder was pronounced with strong suspicions of James ROBINSON who lived in LYNCH's neighborhood being the perpetrator. Colin CAMPBELL, Esq,, Sheriff, being at St. George on official duty Saturday discovered that ROBINSON had absconded, and that a person answering his appearance had taken the road to Saint John. Procuring a warrant from Moses VERNON, Esq., endorsed by Mr. MENZIES, Magistrate of St. John Co. who happened to be present, the sheriff despatched two men on horseback. They overtook and arrested the supposed culprit the same night within a mile or two of St. John and brought him hither. ROBINSON was committed to take his trial at the next Court of General Goal Delivery. (St. Andrews Standard June 30)
