Hants 'Journal' - Mrs. Mary Ann ROBINSON, widow of Wm B. ROBINSON, contractor in St. John for many years, died Sunday last of pneumonia, aged 83 years. She was born in halifax, N.S., Feb. 28, 1806 and was a descendant of the loyalists who came to Shelburne and located on lands granted by the government. Many of them remained there only a short time and removed to Halifax. Mrs. Robinson's father, Mr. FIELDING, kept a general store on Water street, Halifax in those early days. She often spoke of the Duke of Kent and his lady visiting her father's shop and making purchases. She died in full possession of her faculties. A brother, who has reached his 86th birthday, is John FIELDING of Windsor. She leaves three daughters, Annie ROBINSON who is doing business here (Windsor); Sarah KERR widow of Hugh KERR; and Harriet TRENHOLM w/o Dr. TRENHOLM, Halifax and one son, Joseph ROBINSON. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon, the services at the house and grave being conducted by Rev. Wm Brown and Rev. Dr. McMurray.
