d. 24th inst., a boat containing seven persons residing in Lower Granville, N.S. was swamped while crossing from Digby to Granville and all on board were lost viz., William FLEET, Sr., James JOHNSTON,jr. s/o Capt. J. JOHNSTON; R. MERRITT s/o Wm MERRITT, James JOLIN, Wm COOBIT,jr. and a man named SINES. The father of young MERRITT resides at Newburyport, N.S.
