W.E. STEVENS of the Custom Dept. of Saint John was advised by telegram this forenoon of the death of his eldest brother, Alfred STEVENS which occurred in Moncton at 9 o'clock this morn. The deceased was about 50 years of age and leaves a widow and three children, the youngest being only an infant. He was the sole owner of the knitting factory at Moncton, employing upwards of forty hands. He was ill only about eight days, inflammation of the lungs being the direct cause of his death.
