An inquest was held Wednesday afternoon by Coroner W.W. Hay in view of the body of John Baptiste THIBIDEAU, age 80. Deceased was on the railroad track a little north of the bridge at the foot of King St. when a locomotive and tender no. 8 of the N.B.R. was backing down into the yard. The driver, as soon as he saw the man, whistled for brakes, reversed the engine to avoid the catastrophy but in vain; the tender struck Thibideau who seemed unconscious of the danger.
