John HARVEY, senior, aged 68, died at his residence Queen street at a late hour last night. Mr. Harvey has been ill for six months, suffering from Sciatica. He was born at Berwick-on-Tweed on New Year's Day, 1826. He married Miss RUTHERFORD, a native of Tweed-Mouth, on the opposite side of the Tweed from Berwick. They came to America nearly 40 years ago and after a few years residence in the United States, settled in Fredericton. Mr. Harvey was one of Fredericton's most respected residents and although living a very quiet life, he kept himself in towuch with the active life of the world. He was for many years a member of the F.& A.M. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and had never missed a communion up to the time of his sickness. His wife and four children, Mrs. A.D. THOMAS, Annie HARVEY, Janie HARVEY and John HARVEY, jr. of this city, survive him. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon 3:30 from his late residence Queen street.
