James CARR, a well known short cart driver, age 74 years, died suddenly at his home Mecklenburg Street Thursday afternoon. He was conversing with his wife in the kitchen and suddenly fell from his chair to the floor dead. Dr. Daniel said that he died of paralysis of the heart.Deceased leaves a wife and eight children. The sons are Thomas CARR employed with Messrs. C. Flood & Sons; Robert FLOOD, I.C.R. engineer; Henry Mason CARR, Wm CARR, James CARR and David CARR are residents of this city. Mr. Carr was a native of Ireland but a resident here for 60 years. He was at one time a tanner, was for years a member of the hook and ladder company and at the time of his death was a member of the Cartman's Union.
