Upper Haynesville (York Co.) Feb. 3 - The community was shocked to hear of the death of George OLIVER of Lower Caverhill which occurred on Friday afternoon last. He was working in the woods on a branch of the Keswick with Leonard WIGGINS. After dinner he started to the stream with a load of logs. Mr. Wiggins, after waiting some time for his return, started to see what was the matter and found poor George dead; jammed between two logs on the brow, with his head mashed flat and his leg broken in two places. Death must have been instantaneous. His funeral took place today. Mr. Dawson, Methodist, officiated at both the house and grave. Oliver leaves an aged father and wife.
